QA Failure Report
Failure Reporting begins at the initial test and continues until the release moves into production. During vendor testing, the vendor will be responsible for the updated failure report. The report is a QA responsibility and will be monitored and socialized through the QA process. As failures are identified, the report will be updated appropriately.
QA Testing Report
This report contains combined testing information for all the Quality Gate reports.
QA Test Matrix
QA Test Matrix is a deliverable which is prepared at the end of project product development or rather after testing is completed. The prime objective of this document is to explain various details and activities about the testing performed for the project to respective stakeholders, e.g., senior management, client, etc. This matrix offers details about the testing cycle as well as the status of the test result and summarizes the results of all testing efforts.
Quality Assurance (QA)
Business Definition: All activities that center around implementing standards and procedures associated with ensuring that software meets a certain set of requirements before it’s released. The intent of Quality Assurance is to ensure the best outcome of a product. QA is generally process oriented and does not include the actual testing of products.
Technical Definition: The process of auditing the quality requirements and the results from quality control measurements to ensure that appropriate quality standards and operational definitions are used. Quality assurance usually involves the performance of quality audits, a structured, independent process to determine if project activities comply with policies, processes, and procedures.
Quality Control (QC)
A set of activities for ensuring quality in products. The activities focus on identifying defects in the actual products produced.
Quality Gate (QG)
Business Definition: A milestone in an IT project that requires that predefined criteria be met before the project can proceed to the next phase.
Technical Definition: A special milestone in a software project. QGs are located between environments and tests, where the entrance criteria for the next environment is based upon the exit criteria for the activities of the previous environment and is strongly dependent on the outcome of a previous phase. They are especially useful between phases in which enhanced measurements and disciplines must be overcome. To pass through a quality gate, all demands must be met for the next phase or environment to be successful.
