Quality Assurance (QA)
Business Definition: All activities that center around implementing standards and procedures associated with ensuring that software meets a certain set of requirements before it’s released. The intent of Quality Assurance is to ensure the best outcome of a product. QA is generally process oriented and does not include the actual testing of products.
Technical Definition: The process of auditing the quality requirements and the results from quality control measurements to ensure that appropriate quality standards and operational definitions are used. Quality assurance usually involves the performance of quality audits, a structured, independent process to determine if project activities comply with policies, processes, and procedures.
