A general-purpose modeling language in the field of software engineering, which is designed to provide a standard way to visualize the design of a system.

Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)

An electrical apparatus that provides emergency power to a load when the input power source or main power fails.

Unit Test

A software testing method by which individual units of source code, sets of one or more computer program modules together with associated control data, usage procedures, and operating procedures, are tested to determine whether they are fit for use.

Unstructured data

Information that either does not have a pre-defined data model or is not organized in a pre-defined manner. Unstructured data (or information) is typically text-heavy, but may contain data such as dates, numbers, and facts as well. Term utilized to refer to electronic document attachments. Examples of unstructured data include documents, photographs, audio files, video files, email messages, and multimedia files. See Binary Large Object.

User-centered design

Design based on research and the needs of the users of the system.

User Experience/ User Interface (UX/UI) Design (UX/UI Design)
