CWDS Glossary
The CWDS Glossary includes a List of Acronyms and defined terms captured from various models, reports, and other artifacts pertaining to the Child Welfare System – California Automated Response and Engagement System (CWS-CARES) Project. The Glossary standardizes terms used across the various project disciplines; each term is defined with its meaning specific to the project domain.

Product Director
Responsible for Product strategy and delivery, development of the CARES Blueprint (scope) and Roadmap (priorities); and delivering product features that meet CCWIS requirements, boost process efficiency, reinforce good practice and improve outcomes.
Production
To develop software that will serve a business use case. The version of IT software which is in production has passed design and the bulk of development, and is being used for its intended purpose.
Moving software to 'production' is a decision that is made once a set of criteria (code completion, tested, project sign-offs and user stakeholder review) is accomplished.
Production Environment
Where business process execution and business functionality required to support an organization's mission are executed, including the personnel, processes, data, hardware, and software needed to perform day-to-day operations.
Product Manager
An Contractor* resource who performs the activities defined by the ADPQ Vendor Pool Labor Category Definitions, including but not limited to role that ensuring that all work on the contract complies with Contract* terms and conditions. The Product Manager shall have access to the Contractor’s* corporate senior leadership when necessary. The Product Manager shall be the primary interface with the CWDS Contract Manager and shall attend status meetings and ad hoc meetings with stakeholders as required.

Product Roadmap
The high-level initiatives and the planned steps that communicate direction and progress to internal teams and external stakeholders.
Program Impact Advisory Committee (PIAC)
The CWDS Oversight Committee (OSC) created the Program Impact Advisory Committee (PIAC) to broaden the base for discussions of CWS/CMS and CWS-New System (CWS-NS) issues as they relate to Child Welfare Services program, policy and practice. The CWDS Oversight Committee charters the Program Impact Advisory Committee (PIAC) as an advisory body to the Oversight Committee (OSC). The primary purpose of the PIAC is to aid in the analysis of proposed changes to the automated case management system (CWS/CMS & CWS-NS) by providing statewide perspective and guidance where program, policy, and practice issues arise.
Project Status Report (PSR )
Monthly report required by California Department of Technology (CDT) for all large reportable projects. This report is produced by the PMO using CDT templates and is submitted on the 5th business day of the month.
Promotion Decision
Identifies the accountable person that made the decision to promote a change to the next environment, as well as the supporting information used to make that decision. The promotion decision will be produced with every production release.
