CWDS Glossary
The CWDS Glossary includes a List of Acronyms and defined terms captured from various models, reports, and other artifacts pertaining to the Child Welfare System – California Automated Response and Engagement System (CWS-CARES) Project. The Glossary standardizes terms used across the various project disciplines; each term is defined with its meaning specific to the project domain.

Feature
A collection of user stories or requirements of similar nature that together to fulfill a stakeholder need. Features group together stories that should be released together.
Federal Financial Participation (FFP)
Title XlX Medi-caid program that allows states to receive partial reimbursement for activities that meet FFP objectives.
Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS)
Publicly announced standards developed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology for use in computer systems by non-military American government agencies and government contractors.
Federal Placement Case
Cases that originate from CJPS.
Federal Risk and Authorization Management Plan (FedRAMP)
A US government-wide program that provides a standardized approach to security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring for cloud products and services
Female
Of, relating to, or being the sex that typically has the capacity to bear young or produce eggs.
Feminine
The socially constructed and culturally specific gender behaviors expected of females.
Field Automation System (FAS)
An IBM Notes-based system utilized by Community Care Licensing Division staff to document facility inspections and investigations.
Final Order
A court order that concludes the court action.
Focus Child(ren)
In a referral or case, one or more children that have been identified as an alleged or confirmed victim of child abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
