Each Title IV-E agency must submit yearly estimates of program expenditures as well as quarterly reports of estimated and actual program costs in support of the funds awarded by the federal government. The IV-E audit ensures that federal funds received by the Title IV-E agency are used for allowable purposes. The federal government recovers funds that were spent improperly.
