Provision to improve mental health and supportive services for children and youth in, or at imminent risk of placement in, foster care in California as a result of a class action suit on July 18, 2002, on violations of federal Medicaid laws, the American with Disabilities Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and California Government Code Section 11135.
The Katie A. subclass is defined as children meeting criteria including:
1. Be under age 21 and have “full-scope” Medi-Cal eligibility; and
2. Meet medical necessity criteria (as specified in California Code of Regulations Title 9, Section 1830.205 or Section 1830.210).
