Digital Service Status Descriptions
The Digital Services Dashboard is intended to provide stakeholders with a quick overview of each digital service offering's progress, as well as links that allow anyone to see what we are working on through each team's public backlog in the Pivotal Tracker tool, and source code on GitHub.
While it is the case that our Digital Service teams never stop doing user research to improve services, CWDS has adopted the notion of "statuses" to help our stakeholders understand our Digital Service Teams' progress. These statuses denote where we are in the overall process of developing and implementing different functions to eventually replace the legacy Child Welfare Services / Case Management System (CWS/CMS) front-end application entirely. Note that Digital Services will use the underlying CWS/CMS database with all its historical data in conjunction with new data stores to ensure continuity and integrity of the data.
Once a digital service has reached a particular status, it will remain in that status until it moves to the next. So, once a Digital Service is in status "Beta", for example, it will remain in Beta even if the Digital Service Team is conducting Discovery-like activities such as determining what is in the next release.
The table below summarizes the four statuses: Discovery, Alpha, Beta, and Live. When all of the digital services are "Live", all of the functionality in the front-end CWS/CMS application will have been replaced.
